The goal of the THRIVES program is to provide rapid re-housing for the homeless to address the characteristics of rural Nebraska. Assistance is provided to help the participant obtain affordable housing through limited financial assistance and maintain housing utilizing the case management services provided.
How do I qualify?
- Must meet HUD's definition of homelessness
- Housing must meet a Housing Quality Standards inspection
- Other requirements may be necessary to qualify
THRIVES offers:
- Information on safe, suitable housing
- Case management in 12 different life areas to address barriers
- Provide a support system
- Budgeting
- Advocacy & referrals
- Supportive financial services may be available
Eligibility Criteria:
- No housing-staying in a place not meant for human habitation
- Eviction
- Domestic abuse
- Living in a shelter
- Living with family/friends & being asked to leave
- Must be 18 years of age
Required Documentation and responsibilities:
- Complete an application packet
- Participate in an interview
- Have or be eligible to obtain a photo ID and Social Security Card
- Be willing to obtain employment or increase existing income if needed
- Agree to work with someone on setting and attaining life goals
- Follow through with case plans developed by you and your case manager
